Jay Hopkins, EPI Founder & CEO

Jay Hopkins has over 30 years of experience providing safety, quality, and effectivess training to businesses, corporations, government agencies, hospitals, police and fire departments, and medical transport operations. He has trained, coached, and consulted on various projects for a wide variety of aerospace, military, and emergency management agencies across the United States. Jay is a recognized leader in Error Prevention Training and has designed and developed the EPI training curriculum to help people identify the traps that lead to costly risks and mistakes, and use the tools of Error Prevention to successfully avoid or deal with those traps.

Jay's instructional design experience started in the aviation industry. At FlightSafety International he provided instruction on the Learjet 35 and 55, and he developed and presented the Jet Transition Course and Learjet 55 Initial Course. As one of the first instructors at SimuFlite Training International, he was chosen as the first standardization instructor and manager of instructional design and development. His experience includes virtually all facets of civil aviation; including line service, aerial photography, glider towing and isntruction, charter, airline, and corporate jet operations, as well as military instruction and aerospace. Jay has also been a Contributing Editor to Flying Magazine for 18 years, where his monthly training article allows pilots to benefit from his uniquely effective approach to error prevention. 

Jay received his BA in social psychology from Lehigh University, and lived in many different parts of the country before settling in Tucson, Arizona.
